Ryan Aubry graduated from Brandon University with a Bachelors in Music Performance before completing his Masters degree in trumpet performance at McGill University. He co-founded a brass quintet that won a scholarship to study at the Aspen Music Festival with members of the Brass faculty of the Juilliard school of music. He has participated in masterclasses at Northwestern University, University of North Dakota, University of Montreal, and Yale University. As a student, in addition to various Associated Manitoba Arts Festival acclamations, Ryan was a first place winner at the National Music Festival of Canada. Ryan has performed with and studied under members of major world orchestras including the New York Metropolitan, Montreal Metropolitan, Montreal and Winnipeg Symphony orchestras. Aside from occasional classical freelance work around Manitoba, Ryan performs with gifted vocalist, Jayme Giesbrecht and is a member of the Winnipeg based corporate event band, Men In Cheap Suits. Now with the JP Lepage Band, Ryan Aubry is completing his informal education in blues studies on trumpet and arrangements.
